Geosys International, Inc., a leading global provider of agronomic decision support tools, today announced it has relocated two members of its senior leadership team from France to Minnesota, and hired four proven industry experts to position the company for continued growth.
Acquired by Minnesota-based Land O’Lakes, Inc. in 2013, GEOSYS has seen demand for its decision support tools and satellite-based remote sensing technology increase in all markets. Corporate and North American teams are now strategically headquartered in the United States while regional business teams continue to support the company’s 100-plus clients worldwide.
GEOSYS is a pioneer in agriculture technology with a 28-year track record of developing innovative solutions based on satellite imagery, geographic information systems, and agronomic research. Through real-time satellite- and weather-based data analytics, these solutions provide businesses across the agriculture supply chain and crop insurance industry with insights that drive more informed decisions.
“As the trend toward intelligent agriculture practices advances, our expertise in agronomy and technology sets us apart from the competition,” said Damien Lepoutre, founder and president of GEOSYS. “We have created the broadest archive of historical satellite and weather information available in agriculture. We also deliver insights from quality controlled datasets so farmers and service providers can make decisions that create more value across the supply chain by positively impacting yield and managing risk.”
GEOSYS’ historical agronomic resources, sound technological infrastructure, and team of industry experts are the driving forces behind its 20 percent year-over-year growth since 2010.
Matthieu Hyrien, global director of sales and marketing, and Vincent Lelandais, key accounts manager, both recently relocated to Minneapolis from the GEOSYS office in Toulouse, France. Hyrien grew up on a farm near Bordeaux, France and after receiving his master’s in agronomy has spent the past 12 years leading GEOSYS’ efforts in product management, operations, technology, and now sales and marketing. Lelandais, also with a master’s in agronomy, has 15 years of experience at GEOSYS managing custom, integrated solutions for large, international customers.
Dr. Dave Gebhardt joins as global director of strategic partnerships. Gebhardt grew up on a farm in southeastern Minnesota and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy from Iowa State University, and a Ph.D. in plant breeding and genetics from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Gebhardt has 25 years of experience in the agriculture industry in various plant genetics, agronomy, and technology roles with companies like Coors Brewing Company, DuPont Pioneer, GreenLeaf Genetics, Winfield Solutions and FarmLink.
Daniel Pereira joins as a crop analyst. Pereira grew up on a dairy farm near São Paulo, Brazil, and earned his master’s degree in agriculture and statistics from the University of Florida. An experienced agronomist, Pereira previously worked for Lanworth, Cargill and BTG-Pactual, monitoring large-scale crop production using quantitative models of weather and field-level crop conditions.
Mike Driscoll joins as business development manager, commodities and trading, North America. For the past 17 years, Driscoll served as commercial grain sales manager at DTN/The Progressive Farmer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bellevue University.
Emily Negrin joins as marketing and communications manager. Negrin brings to GEOSYS 12 years of agriculture communications experience at global public relations agency Weber Shandwick, and most recently, Winfield Solutions.
