Plant phenotyping specialist LemnaTec has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive to manage the ongoing development of its global businesses.
With more than 35 years’ experience in the bio-tech industry, Stefan Frey has held senior leadership roles in a series of global bio-tech companies including FMC Corp, Bayer Crop Science and Devgen. He has worked successfully in many territories including the US, Asia, Africa, Australia and Europe.
“LemnaTec is an exciting opportunity”, says Frey, “this is a company that already leads the market in terms of technology and sales, but it still has significant untapped potential”.
Frey is no stranger to working in companies that achieve rapid growth. He has a strong track record in developing businesses, promoting core values such as quality and operational excellence to help achieve his goals.
“Market leading companies often grow very quickly and inevitably this can cause problems in the delivery process”, continues Frey. “It is my job to make sure our customers are delighted with the products they buy and with the level of support they receive”
Last year, LemnaTec announced the world’s first automated field phenotyping Scanalyzer at Rothamsted Research in the UK and a second, even larger, field installation for the Advanced Research Projects Agency in Arizona is now under construction. LemnaTec has also expanded its core product range of phenotyping research platforms for laboratories and greenhouses.
“I’m looking forward to working with a great team”, concludes Frey, “backed by two strong institutional investors, Anterra Capital and DEWB, we have the long term investment we need to remain at the forefront of this fast-moving sector. Consequently, I am expecting to see this business grow significantly in Europe and Asia and especially in North America”.
