LGC Genomics, ranked number one again in the DNA sequencing survey
Berlin, Germany
February 14, 2013
LGC's Genomics business was ranked top in the survey for DNA sequencing SQ 2/12 – technical performance compiled by DGKL (Deutsche Vereinte Gesellschaft für klinische Chemie und Laboratoriumsmedizin e.V.) in December 2012. A total of 55 laboratories from 19 countries participated in the survey, including 22 German facilities. The participants were each given two PCR products and associated primer sets and asked to sequence the PCR products and analyse the resulting sequencing data in order to generate concordant DNA sequence data and the longest read lengths. The results from each laboratory were ranked according to accuracy and read length. LGC Genomics achieved the highest score for overall technical performance.
“Being ranked the best out of 55 sequencing facilities and topping the survey again in 2012 is a fantastic result for our team, we are of course delighted with the recognition of the work we do both for our own staff and for our customers. We have many years of experience in sequencing and following the merger with KBioscience in 2011 not only can we offer the very highest levels of quality in our sequencing laboratories but we can also support other elements for customer’s projects in extraction and genotyping is further proof of our high quality and long-standing expertise in DNA sequencing” said Knut Mohr, Commercial Manager of the LGC Genomics sequencing business unit in Berlin.
