The Greenery and Syngenta Seeds present Angello sweet and seedless pepper

Barendrecht, The Netherlands
7 February 2012

The Greenery and Syngenta Seeds present the Angello ™ Sweet & Seedless Pepper. This new variety of snack pepper has a fresh, sweet and crunchy taste, a characteristic red colour and does not contain any seeds. The seedless pepper is a healthy snack that can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere - as a great school snack for children, an ideal refreshment after a workout or a delicious bite during a day out and about.

The Angello™ Sweet & Seedless Pepper is an innovative pepper variety, developed through natural horticultural breeding. Fruit development without germination is a new advance in pepper growing. By combining various pepper varieties over the course of the cultivation process, we obtained a high-quality pepper plant guaranteed to bear seedless fruit.

Syngenta specialises in seed enhancement, product development and crop supervision. The Greenery has a wealth of knowledge in both national and international markets, products and logistics, and maintains direct contact with growers. As a result, the collaboration between Syngenta and The Greenery offers a sound basis for the market introduction of a unique product. The collaboration generates synergy for growers, consumers and the two partners alike.

The Angello™ Sweet & Seedless Pepper will be sold in snack-sized packages. To ensure a year-round supply, Angello™ Sweet & Seedless Peppers will be cultivated in Spain, Israel and the Netherlands. The Greenery is the exclusive sales partner for the Angello™ Sweet & Seedless Pepper in North and West Europe.

Syngenta Seeds has submitted the ’ideal snack pepper’ for consideration at the 2012 Fruit Logistica Innovation Award.
