Missouri soybean farmers will soon see expanded market opportunities as GROWMARK announced it will begin commercializing SOYLEIC high-oleic soybeans, strengthening demand for value-added production and reinforcing Missouri’s leadership in agricultural innovation.
SOYLEIC soybeans are a high-oleic, low-linolenic soybean developed through decades of research at the University of Missouri to deliver improved oil stability, enhanced functionality and benefits for both food and industrial applications. The commercialization agreement with GROWMARK marks a significant step in scaling this technology and expanding its reach across the Midwest.
“This is a pivotal moment for SOYLEIC and for the farmers who have invested in bringing this innovation to market,” said Bryan Stobaugh, director of commercialization and licensing for Missouri Soybeans. “This partnership moves SOYLEIC from promising technology to real commercial scale, creating tangible market opportunities and added value for growers.”
Through its commercialization efforts, GROWMARK will focus on increasing seed availability, expanding market channels and supporting farmers interested in growing SOYLEIC varieties. The partnership is expected to strengthen demand for high-oleic soybeans among processors and end users seeking improved performance, longer shelf life and a domestically sourced oil solution.
“Commercializing SOYLEIC high-oleic soybeans is a strong step forward in delivering added value to our farmers and member cooperatives,” said Keith Lawson, Vice President, Seed Division, GROWMARK. “This partnership connects innovation with market demand and positions our growers to capture new opportunities in the high-oleic soybean space.”
Additional information on seed availability, contracting opportunities and commercialization timelines will be shared as details are finalized.
