“By introducing innovative and high-yielding varieties, we are not just providing seeds; we are cultivating success and empowering the backbone of our nation’s economy.”
– Mostafa Kamal, Country Manager of East-West Seed Bangladesh (EWBD).
EWBD brought together farmers, agricultural professionals, and partners for the 2025 Crop Show on Sunday, November 23, in Khanarkandi, Shabgram. The event showcased 69 vegetable varieties across 20 crops, offering a practical space for knowledge exchange and community building.
Designed as a hands-on field day, the Crop Show featured a guided tour through demonstration plots, giving visitors the chance to observe high-performing varieties in real conditions. Throughout the day, local farmers shared their experiences using quality seeds and improved cultivation methods to raise yields and strengthen their farms.

Key stakeholders from across the agricultural sector joined the event. Special guests included representatives from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh, East-West Seed’s regional and global teams, and distributors from across Asia. Their presence underscored the shared goal of supporting smallholder farmers with better tools, training, and market opportunities.
A key segment of the event was the recognition of Key Opinion Leader (KOL) farmers, whose stalls were visited by attendees, showcasing real-world applications and successes.
In his keynote, Mr. Tim Spaans, First Secretary for Economic Affairs at the Dutch Embassy, highlighted the importance of such initiatives for food security and rural development.
The 2025 Crop Show ended with a shared meal and new connections—strengthening the network that helps farmers in Bangladesh grow more, grow better, and build more secure livelihoods.
