United Kingdom - Winter weheat KWS Basset wins in the South

United Kingdom
October 1, 2018

To say 2018 was an unpredictable year would be an understatement; however KWS Basset has proved its consistency again this year showing that its robust agronomic package and Scout parentage holds merit in all types of seasons.

Southern farmer Tim Overy (E I Overy & Sons) has grown KWS Basset for 2 years and this year the crop won him first place in the East Kent Ploughing Match Crop Competition.  Tim had this to say: “Not only a great looking crop it also delivered where it counts. I was very impressed with its yield and grain quality, especially considering the growing season. Having grown the variety as both a first and second wheat I am confident in the variety and will be drilling again this autumn as the largest single variety on the farm”.
