INRA's Sustainable Management of Crop Health newsletters now available

June 29, 2015

SMaCH Information lettersThe first English versions of INRA's Sustainable Management of Crop Health (SMaCH) metaprogramme Information Letters are now available, revealing progress made in the durable management of plant pest resistance, and the launch of new projects addressing the mobilisation of natural regulation, monitoring, diagnosis and predicting risks for crop health.

Each newsletter focuses on seminars held late last year in Paris, France. Information Letter No. 3 reports on a seminar addressing the durable management of plant pest resistance, providing the preliminary results from five projects in SMaCH's Presume key action, one of 13 key actions in the metaprogramme.

Information Letter No. 4 reports on the launch seminar of new projects following SMaCH's 2014 call focused on mobilising natural regulation, monitoring, diagnosis and predicting risks for crop health.

Six projects have been selected (plus two theses) revolving around two approaches. Firstly, a better understanding of the services provided by biodiversity in terms of pest regulation and the capacity to contain pest outbreaks. And secondly, enriching and mobilising knowledge in terms of observation, monitoring, diagnosis, prevention and risk management.
