Cheminova, Inc. today announced that KOVERALL Fungicide is federally registered, and registered in the State of California, for use on walnuts, and also registered for use on numerous crops in the State of Arizona. KOVERALL contains the active ingredient mancozeb, and can be used as an alternative to Manzate® Pro-Stick. This means growers now have another option to battle walnut blight in their orchards and downy mildew in lettuce fields.
“In the U.S. there are more than 245,000 acres producing more than 460,000 tons of walnuts annually and walnut blight continues to be a problem that impacts yields. KOVERALL can help protect walnut orchards from this disease,” said Deneen Sebastian, Director of Marketing, Cheminova, Inc. “In addition, the KOVERALL registration in Arizona will help lettuce growers control downy mildew this fall. It’s also a great tank mix partner and rotational product.”
KOVERALL provides broad spectrum disease control of key diseases with no known resistance reported. Beyond walnuts and lettuce, it has numerous crops on its label including: almonds, apples, pears and other pome fruit, cereals, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, cucurbits and several other fruits and vegetables.
