This year, Syngenta introduced CruiserMaxx® Peanuts, the first insecticide/fungicide seed treatment combination for peanuts, and based on preliminary field results, it certainly lives up to its CruiserMaxx name.
As the first of its kind, the CruiserMaxx seed treatment combination for peanuts gives the grower a clear competitive advantage by offering unmatched convenience and improved yield potential.
Grower Steve Pittman, of Norfolk, Va., witnessed the advantages firsthand and said he would have no problem recommending CruiserMaxx Peanuts to other growers.
“I noticed overall healthier plants under light to moderate thrips pressure," Pittman said.
Pittman also noted that CruiserMaxx Peanuts does not require the grower to calibrate the granular application boxes, which is just one of the many positive qualities that the insecticide/fungicide seed treatment combination provides for its users.
CruiserMaxx Peanuts provides protection from a wide range of pests and diseases that can regularly plague a field.
The insecticide component, Cruiser® PD, provides protection against thrips, leafhoppers, aphids and other insects by targeting the bugs’ nervous systems. Tests show that CruiserMaxx Peanuts is effective when it comes to defending against thrips while minimizing damage to the peanut crop.
Dynasty® PD provides protection against damaging fungi and both soilborne and seedborne diseases, such as Aspergillus niger, Rhizopus, Rhizoctonia and white mold. After a successful first year, it is clear that CruiserMaxx Peanuts not only provides better protection from pests and diseases than the competition, but it also provides growers with healthier plants and stronger yield. After the positive results from the 2012 growing season, it looks like great things are ahead for growers using CruiserMaxx Peanuts.
