ABSTRACT
Wheat variety trials were conducted at experiment stations in western Kansas for many years, with a number of varieties from several university as well as private breeding programs. The entries change as new varieties are released, and management practices of yield trials are location-specific and generally match those used by farmers. The objective of the study was to determine the change in wheat yields in western Kansas for the past 56 years as influenced by precipitation and temperature and compare yield trends from Kansas to the region.
