The off-line ABS apps for ABS Seed have been modernized and will soon be available to replace the current ABS Production and Quality apps in use. This was a complete technical modernization, using React Native technology. In this Article we explain the advantages of the renewed Apps.
The main advantages of the new ABS Production and Quality apps are:
Fit for as well Android as IOS
On our old software platform Android devices were highly recommended. React native does give a better support on IOS.
To be used on mobile phones
The new version of production app built with React Native not only works with your tablet, but also with mobile phones.
Production screens
Improved filter options on your seed lots and determination assignments
The orientation of the filters has been changed from horizontal to vertical to provide more space to display the list of fields in the Production app or the list of determinations in the Quality app. It would also help the user to see all the filters at once.
It is also possible now to search within the filter list and select the correct option to filter the list of fields. This is very helpful when the filters have a long list of options to select from.
Improved security than other cross platform solutions.
React Native provides better security than any other mobile app development environments. It provides better security from vulnerabilities such as HTML5 information, exposure, in secure storage, JS injections, etc.
Stronger Performance
It provides better performance, which enhances the user experience. React Native loads the data in the app using multiple threads in the background and eliminates the slow webview rendering.
Higher Quality and Animations
React Native apps are faster to build, easier to use, offer better quality than other hybrid apps, and are cheaper than native apps. So all and all, React Native gives you the experience of having a native app, without having to develop one. Instead of mainly relying on the processor for renders, React Native utilizes a graphical processing unit (GPU) for rendering which makes it much faster than the other cross platform solutions.
