Whether your preferred language is French, German, Swedish or English, there are a variety of new ways to find out more about EuroWheat.org, the internet-based platform which collates and displays information on wheat disease management from various European countries.
The information offered on EuroWheat, created by ENDURE partners and since expanded to include representatives from outside the Network of Excellence including the Swedish Board of Agriculture and the UK’s National Institute of Agricultural Botany, is designed to support local agricultural advisers, breeders and other partners dealing with disease management in wheat.
The site contains pages devoted to wheat Integrated Pest Management (IPM), fungicides, pathogens, cultivars and yields, and general information material on disease management and is open to all users. Click here to go directly to the site.
Articles highlighting progress on the site have recently been published in a range of journals and languages, and you can download these below. These include a four-page paper in the latest edition of Outlooks on Pest Management (August 2010, p173-176), an article in German in Agrarforschung Schweiz and in French in Recherche Agronomique Suisse. In addition, the EuroWheat team have reported on progress in a recently published Deliverable, DI2.14, which is available below.
The EuroWheat team will also be present at the 11th European Fusarium Seminar which will be addressing ‘Fusarium - Mycotoxins, Taxonomy, Pathogenicity and Host Resistance’. The event is being held at the base of ENDURE’s Polish partner, IHAR (Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute) at Radzikow, near Warsaw, from 20 to 24 September 2010 and you can download the EuroWheat poster below.
Finally, and not least, ENDURE can offer its first case study leaflet in Swedish, thanks to the efforts of researchers at the Jordbruksverket (Swedish Board of Agriculture). The leaflet in question is the third in the Wheat Case Study series and contains further details about EuroWheat. Download it below.
