The Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) is now available on your smart phone. Now you can take information from ISA’s website with you wherever you go, making it that much easier to keep up to date on important issues. Simply use your smart phone browser to go to www.iasoybeans.mobi or click on the ISA Mobile button on the ISA website.

ISA’s field guides on soybean disease and information on aphids can be easily accessed. Videos on scouting for soybean rust and soybean cyst nematode, Environmental programs and the On Farm Network® are also available, along with recent Production Research podcasts.

ISA Communications Director Karen Simon says accessing information via a mobile device, or smart phone, can be a huge convenience.

“If you’ve shopped for a mobile phone recently, you know it’s difficult to find a phone that’s just a phone anymore,” says Simon. “Besides making phone calls, smart phone devices provide access to the Internet, putting a nearly limitless amount of information at your fingertips. The answers to many agronomic questions are now conveniently located on ISA Mobile.”

ISA Director Ray Gaesser of Corning agrees it will be a valuable tool for not just farmers, but agronomist and crop scouts.

“When you bring up the site on your mobile phone, it’s like having an expert right in the field with you to explain such things as rust, the threshold for aphids and much more,” Gaesser says.

“As time goes on, more information will be added, including information from the newest field guide produced by ISA and Iowa State University, the Weed Identification Guide,” says Simon.
