A GDM delegation traveled through different regions of South Africa with an intensive agenda on business and market insights. Representing the Legal, Licensing, and Institutional Business teams, the group visited the provinces of Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, and Mpumalanga, covering a territory that accounts for more than 80% of the country’s soybean producing regions.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen ties with Agricol, DONMARIO brand partner in South Africa, as well as to gain firsthand knowledge of the realities faced by local farmers. Throughout the tour, the team participated in field days, crop visits and meetings with biotechnology developers, gaining a deeper understanding of industry projections and demands. Another key point was the analysis of the EPR (End Point Royalty) system, a germplasm royalty collection model currently managed by SACTA (South African Cultivar and Technology Agency).

For Fernando Wagner, the opportunity to experience the local culture up close was one of the highlights of the journey: “Getting to know South African culture was a unique experience, further strengthening GDM’s business relationships within this country full of opportunities.”
With this immersion, GDM reaffirms its global commitment to innovation and developing strategic markets!
