We are looking for a xarvio Digital Farming Business Development Representative to join our Agricultural Solutions team and you will work in the Midwest US (Iowa preferred).

As a xarvio Digital Farming Business Development Representative, you will be an integral part of the BASF Digital Farming team. This field position drives the growth of BASF xarvio Digital Farming solutions. The role focuses on expanding the footprint of BASF Digital Farming by identifying opportunities and delivering digital solutions aligned with the digital farming strategy. You will be ultimately responsible for selling and closing deals with identified retail partners and biofuel refineries.The Digital Farming Business Development Representative will serve as an ambassador both within and outside the organization by participating in meetings and events with customers, retail agronomists, biofuel refineries, and internal partners, such as AP sales reps and tech reps. This individual will be on the front lines, expected to capture ongoing customer feedback regarding the tools they sell to ensure that BASF provides purposeful and intelligent digital farming tools. This role will work closely with the xarvio commercial team in the U.S. to execute marketing programs and collaborate with other BASF sales representatives to follow up on customer leads. You will need to reside in the Midwest US (Iowa preferred).

  • Selling and closing deals with identified retail partners and bio-refineries based on follow-up from leads generated by the BASF field and sustainability team, while collaborating closely with the BASF sales and marketing team to meet country-level sales targets related to xarvio FIELD MANAGER.
  • Proactively engaging with target customers to grow awareness by attending key events focused on targeted retailers, bio-refineries, and growers. Gathering feedback from customers, compiling it, and collaborating with the team to create actions for improvement or resolution of issues.
  • Promoting BASF Digital Farming products by speaking at meetings and events as required or requested, and participating as a DF or xarvio representative at BASF tradeshow booths.
  • Leading demonstrations, training sessions, and webinars on BASF Digital Farming tools and products, and training BASF employees on these tools.
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of platforms and tools, with the ability to act as a representative in internal and external projects.

If you...

  • Have post-secondary education (Bachelor’s Degree) in Business or Agricultural Sciences or related.
  • Hold 8+ years of experience in a sales role within the agriculture and/or biorefinery industry, utilizing industry and agronomic expertise to develop and strengthen business relationships.
  • Acquire experience in digital agriculture.
  • Maintain experience in agriculture retail, which is considered an asset.
  • Obtain experience training or leading webinars.
  • Carry knowledge of farming practices and equipment.
  • Enjoy robust computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite, with a strong inclination toward web-based applications and digital customer engagement tools.
  • Exhibit strong networking abilities.

Pay transparency

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $113,600 - $156,200. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
