We are looking for a Regional Head of Operations, Americas to join our Agricultural Solutions team based in Parma, ID for BASF | Nunhems Vegetable Seeds.

As the Regional Head of Operations for the Americas, you will develop and implement a Regional Strategic Plan and Regional Tactical Plan for Operations in alignment with the global Operations Strategy. This will encompass areas of expertise such as Production, Processing, Quality Control & Assurance, Supply Chain, and Site Services. You will manage regional Operations activities for Production, Processing, Quality Control & Assurance, and Supply Chain by implementing regional tactical plans while ensuring effective and efficient operational execution.

As a Regional Head of Operations, Americas, you create chemistry by...

  • Defining and aligning the regional Operations Strategy in close collaboration with global Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and Processing teams, ensuring consistent governance and tactical execution across the Americas.
  • Developing a cross-functional, crop-aligned Regional Tactical Plan to translate global strategy into actionable regional initiatives, while steering functional departments and monitoring performance through defined KPIs and targets.
  • Managing the end-to-end seed supply chain—from multiplication to customer delivery—to meet regional demand plans with optimal quality, cost, and timeliness, in accordance with global standards and service level agreements.
  • Ensuring operational effectiveness, quality assurance, and inventory availability by applying globally authorized processes, conducting risk-based assessments, and aligning with inventory strategies to support reliable seed throughput.
  • Implementing fit-for-purpose IT systems (e.g., ERP, LIMS, BI) in collaboration with Operations Support and IT, enabling robust data management, planning, automation, and performance tracking across operational functions.
  • Fostering a high-performance culture by managing resources, budgets, infrastructure, and employee development through HPO principles, while embedding safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement into daily operations.

If you...

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Master’s Degree in a related field, strongly preferred.
  • Possess fifteen years of experience and knowledge in the vegetable seed industry.
  • Bring a minimum of five years’ leadership experience within a matrix organization structure; international leadership is preferred.
  • Demonstrate expertise in organizational, people, and change management.
  • Show awareness and involvement in safety, quality management, and sustainability aspects.
  • Engage in personal development, coaching, and training of managers.
  • Understand seed production, seed processing, quality control & assurance, supply chain, and vegetable seed markets (preferred).
  • Are proficient in MS Office; have basic knowledge of Tableau, QMS, document management systems (e.g., Elements), and ERP systems (e.g., SAP), strongly preferred.
  • Are able to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally
