We are seeking a Specialist Seed Technology for our Nunhems vegetable seed operations in Parma, ID to represent the physiology team in the US. In the constantly changing business environment, this role will look for implementation opportunities and offer new solutions in all areas of seed quality testing and seed processing including materials, processes, and technologies.
As a Specialist Seed Technology, You Create Chemistry By...
COORDINATNG PROCESS OPTIMIZATION PROJECTS:
- Being responsible for the management of optimization projects within the Global Processing, Production and Quality Assurance Department as well as analyze and evaluate current products and processes used in daily seed processing
- Installing task force/project group for project coordination: define and discuss problem definition, trial design, setting timelines, actions and people involved in project and their responsibilities
PROJECTING EVALUATION & REPORTING:
- Evaluating trial results based on thorough data analysis of projects results. Include statistical analysis when applicable design and modification of equipment and/or procedures, research processes where seed quality issues have been identified in order to enhance and maintain overall seed quality.
- Cooperating and fine-tuning of projects with analysts by monthly video conferencing.
SEED QUALITY and GUIDELINES:
- Designing and modificating of equipment and/or procedures, research processes where seed quality issues have been identified in order to enhance and maintain overall seed quality
- Establishing and implementing guidelines for cleaning, auditing, and repairing of moisture machines to maintain uniform accurate seed moisture results for all departments.
If you...
- Posses a bachelor or master of science degree required. Field of study in an agricultural or horticultural related field, preferred.
- Have 5 or more years experience in seed business, preferably in seed enhancement procedures and techniques, preferred
- Have working knowledge of Seed Physiology
- Are able to coordinate, schedule and organize multi-task needs
- Have advanced level of computer and technology literacy including data analysis and interpretation skills
- Reading, writing and written communication skills, as well as strong verbal communication skills
- Are able to work as a cross-functional team member and able to work with diverse personalities while maintaining mutual respect
- Entrepreneurial drive - scouting new business initiatives and ability to transfer to existing capabilities
- Ability to travel 10% - domestic and international
