Sales Representative & Product Developer

Enza Zaden Canada is looking for a highly motivated sales professional to join ourteam in Leamington, Ontario.

What will you do as a Sales Representative & Product Developer?

As a Sales Representative and Product Developer, you maximize sales and profit with the existing product portfolio. You support the decision-making process and the successful introduction of new varieties. Your focus will be on cucurbits and tomato crops.

  • Responsible for the budget, forecast, and pricing within the assigned group of customers and area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of business relationships with customers.
  • You provide reliable technical advice to customers to have our varieties successfully grown.
  • You identify new promising experimental varieties from local screening and global Breeding.
  • Support the introduction of new Enza Zaden varieties with technical support and clear positioning towards customers.
  • You accompany sales professionals on calls where appropriate and contribute to the training of less experienced sales representatives in the assigned crop.
  • You independently prepare sales presentations, contracts, and proposals to ensure the successful outcome of transactions.
  • You will participate in cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • You are an influential team member, who contributes to forming a positive work environment. 
  • Other duties as required.

Your power

As a Sales Representative & Product Developer, you have a good understanding of how the industry works. You remain up to date about the developments and trends in the market. You are someone who takes initiative, recognizes opportunities, and has an organized method of working. The strong communication and leadership skills you bring help you to build solid relationships between all colleagues. You are a natural communicator and connector who can work independently but is also able to work in cross-functional teams.

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Agriculture, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience with a vegetable grower network. 
  • Excellent sales skills (gains trust, establishes a business objective, identifies customer needs, explores solutions, develops action plans, and overcomes objections through negotiation). 
  • Professional, assertive, with clear communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong skills in planning and organization, influencing/persuading and you have strong management skills.
  • Occasional travel, outside Ontario and international (10-20%).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Starting salary pay range $95,700 - $116,200.
