Prior to founding Insight Plant Health, Dave was the Director of R&D at Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG), where he managed the research and variety commercialization pipelines for pea, lentil, chickpea, dry bean, faba bean and soybeans. Before joining SPG, Dave worked in research, product development, and business development of microbial inoculants and biocontrol products at the Danish biotech company, Novozymes.

Dave holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and a PhD in Biology focused on plant pathology from the University of Saskatchewan, and held postdoctoral positions at The Sainsbury Lab and the National Research Council of Canada.

He is a licensed Professional Agrologist, the author of 15 peer-reviewed scientific publications, and an inventor on 8 patents and applications, including a patented biological seed treatment formulation used on over 50 million acres globally.
