Thunder Seed hires Mike Dietrich as Director of Product Development

Fargo, North Carolina, USA
August 28, 2017

Thunder Seed is pleased to announce it’s recent hire of Mike Dietrich, who will join the team as Director of Product Development on Monday, August 28th. In his role, Dietrich will deliver innovative seed product solutions, direct product positioning to the sales team, and manage product lifecycle strategies and portfolio offerings.

When Mike was asked what makes him the most excited to work for Thunder Seed, he replied with “I’m excited to be working for a local, family-owned company, with three great owners, committed to delivering top performing seeds and traits to area farmers. I appreciate, and relate to, Thunder Seed’s balance of rural values with leading-edge technology.”

Dietrich brings over 20 years of experience in product development, technical and sales roles. He’s held positions with several companies, including American Cyanamid, Agsco, and most recently, Monsanto, where he supported seed partners in the upper Midwest. Before his professional career, he was actively involved in the family farm in Pembina County in the northern Red River Valley. Dietrich received his bachelors degree in Ag Economics and his masters in Plant Sciences, both from NDSU.

Mike, his wife Julie, and their sons currently reside in Moorhead, MN. When he’s not evaluating corn or walking soybean fields, he enjoys cheering on the NDSU Bison Football team with family and friends.
