In what was a very challenging season for growing cotton within Australia, unseasonably cool conditions through October and November and then one of the hottest summers experienced from the rest of the season. There were some exceptionally yielding crops despite challenging climatic conditions. The John Grellman Shield is an award for the highest yielding CSD variety trial.
