Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA) and Society of Commercial Seed Technologists (SCST) - Proposed reorganization of the Germination & Dormancy Subcommittee

USA
February 21, 2017

Previous discussions and AOSA/SCST member opinions indicated the need to restructure the Germination and Dormancy Subcommittee to clearly identify its role, activities and membership function. The idea is to form several working groups to address the different aspects involved in viability and germination testing.

By clicking HERE, there is a list of proposed working groups. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Germination and Dormancy Subcommittee, please fill out the form and select three working groups you would like to participate in. The general function of each working group should be evident from its title. The exact function and number of analysts involved will have to be worked out based on responses and feedback during our first conference call as a committee.

After we receive your feedback, the plan is to arrange for a conference call to decide on the structure and organization of the subcommittee, needed working groups, membership requirements, and working group affiliations.

Please note that the deadline for responding is March 13, 2017.

Best regards,

David Johnston-SCST Chair (djohnston@ldaf.state.la.us)

Riad Baalbaki-AOSA Chair (rbaalbaki@cdfa.ca.gov)
