UC Davis Plant Breeding Academy (PBA) is a program for advanced training of plant breeders. Established in 2006, with programs in USA, Europe, Asia and Africa, it has become the most significant program of its kind. The program was attended by more than 230 breeders, representing 60 countries, more than 100 organizations and numerous different crops. The PBA participants come from variety of backgrounds (24% PhD, 25% MSc, 51% BSc or equivalents), over 80% from private companies.
The fifth class of the European Plant Breeding Academy will start in October 2017 and is now open for registration. The format of the program allows us to move the sessions to different countries and expose the participants to variety of crops and environments. Employers appreciate the opportunity to provide their valued employees advanced training without disrupting their full-time employment. Participants attend six 6-day sessions over approximately two years.
An early registration discount of 1000 Euros is available until March 31, 2017.
