Wabash, Indiana-based AgVenture McKillip Seed Company has hired seed professional Greg Baird to serve central Indiana growers as their AgVenture Yield Specialist. The independently owned and operated Regional Seed Company has extended its reach to serve growers across a five county area in the Kokomo/Tipton region.
Baird brings 25 years of seed industry experience to the AgVenture Seed. “Greg is a seasoned seed professional who knows seed genetics and technologies that best perform in this area,” said Mike McKillip, owner of AgVenture McKillip Seeds. “Greg brings our area growers specific expertise and a wealth of knowledge. He understands our products and our approach to business. He’ll be a great addition to our team and a valuable asset to area growers.”
Baird, a Tipton County native said, “I’ve been particularly impressed with AgVenture McKillip’s seed product line up. Their access to seed genetics and technology is second to none. Beyond that, the McKillip family is not only involved in seed sales. They get their hands dirty every day. They know these products not just on paper, but how they perform in their fields. They are farmers and producer/owners. That makes a difference.”
AgVenture, Inc. Business Development Manager Chuck Schneider added that Baird is uniquely equipped to work with growers to implement AgVenture’s Maximum Profit System™ (MPS), a program that focuses on practices that help deliver higher yields, lower cost per bushel and overall higher profitability across the farm. Schneider said, “Greg’s management background combined with his knowledge of seed, soils and production practices will give our MPS growers an additional edge as they see the positive results the program delivers.”
Baird added, “Coming from a corn production background, I understand the importance and value of seed quality. The seed products AgVenture offers meet and exceed the highest standard measures in the industry. I look forward to representing these products, and to working with growers year round to help them maximize profits on every acre.”
Baird has seed industry experience in production and sales support having worked with Pioneer, Monsanto and Fielder’s Choice Direct. He was raised on a family farm near Tipton Indiana. Baird has a Bachelor’s degree in Management and attended Purdue University and Indiana Wesleyan University. He resides in Kokomo, Indiana.
