Deutsche Saatveredelung AG (DSV) signed a contract for an international cooperation in spring wheat breeding in Begnins (Switzerland). The contracting parties are the research institute Agroscope and Delley Samen und Pflanzen AG (DSP).
The three partners DSV, Agroscope and DSP are already successfully working together in the sector of forage crops. With the now signed contract, there wilI be a close breeding cooperation in spring wheat. The aim is to create a new breeding programme based on the knowledge and experience of these three partners. Additionally, the international competitiveness shall be strengthened and new efficient spring wheat varieties shall be developed for the key markets. Agroscope and DSP will primarily focus on breeding, while DSV is responsible for the international sales of the common varieties.

Deutsche Saatveredelung AG (DSV) with annual sales of around 158 million euros is one of Germany’s leading plant breeding companies and was founded over 90 years ago. Agroscope is the Swiss centre of excellence for agricultural research. It researches along the entire value chain of the agriculture and food sector. The projects of the institute of crop science are financed by the federal administration.
