Takii's superstar “Onion” is having his movie debut

Our superstar “Onion” is having his movie debut on 30-May, 2015. You can see him in movie theaters across Japan this summer!
The title of the movie is “Tanemaku Tabibito” which means “Traveler Who is Sowing.” The movie highlights primary industries in Japanese rural areas such as agriculture and fishing, and is co-sponsored by MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishers of Japan) and some corporate enterprises. Takii is one of the sponsors. The movie takes place on Awaji-shima Island, which is one of the onion production regions in Japan.
Although food is among the most important things for our living and our core elements, some areas in Japan do not have enough new farmers. Family farmers and fishermen are supporting Japanese agriculture or fishing industries, but they are getting old and often don’t have younger family members to replace them. The movie focuses on that fact and a famous Japanese actress plays an elite official and other actors portray local farmers. You can see some human relationships in the movie and our future for hope through the characters, their tensions, misunderstandings, and adaptations. You can also see some traditional Japanese events in the movie, and of course our actor “Onion” has an important role, too.
If you would like to see the movie star “Onion”, please come to Japan… or perhaps someday our promising actor will make his global debut!!
