Novozymes Biologicals announces new President of the BioAg business

Trevor Thiessen has been appointed new President of the BioAg line of business in Novozymes Biologicals, manufacturer of inoculants JumpStart®, TagTeam® and N-Prove®. Trevor Thiessen takes over from Calvin Sonntag who has decided upon a career move outside of Novozymes.
Ted Melnik, President of the parent Novozymes Biologicals based in Salem, VA says:
“Picking the right leader for the business is the most important thing that I can do. It is gratifying that I didn't have to look very far. I am very pleased to announce the promotion of Trevor Thiessen to President of the BioAg line of business in Novozymes Biologicals worldwide”.
After graduating with a B. Comm. in [1993] from the University of Saskatchewan Trevor Thiessen joined the predecessor of the BioAg business, namely Philom Bios, and subsequently earned his MBA from the University of Saskatchewan. After a few years in the canola seed industry, Trevor, rejoined the company in 2002 as Marketing Manager and since then has held increasingly senior roles overseeing marketing, sales, production, and research activities.
“Over the last year and a half we have invested in the BioAg business in a number of ways. We have expanded the organization, developed new products and invested at the Saskatoon site. In short we are excited about what has been accomplished so far and we enthusiastically look ahead to the future,” says Ted Melnik.
