- Fast fungal spore knockdown for control in leaf, thatch, and soil with Contact+
- A broad-spectrum fungicide for dependable foliar disease control
Syngenta Canada Inc. is pleased to announce the registration of Medallion®, a new in-season foliar fungicide for use on Canadian golf courses. Medallion offers a high level of disease control from a modern bio-inspired fungicide with the added benefit of Contact+ activity.
Medallion is a broad-spectrum, contact fungicide with the active ingredient fludioxonil, which is based on the anti-fungal pyrrolnitrin, produced by Pseudomonas pyrocinia soil bacteria. It offers protection against several damaging diseases, including Fusarium patch (Microdochium nivale), Anthracnose (Colletotrichum cereale), Leaf spot (Drechslera spp.)and Brown patch (Rhizoctonia solani).
“With Medallion, Canadian golf course superintendents will be able to utilize the activity of fludioxonil alone with maximum efficiency during periods of intense disease pressure,” says David Kuypers, Turf Specialist for Syngenta Canada.
Contact+ allows the fungicide to bond to the leaf wax layer, ensuring it won't be washed off by rainfall or irrigation, while providing rapid reduction of fungal activity and excellent protection. “Contact+ activity targets turf disease pathogens on the leaf, in the thatch and at the soil surface,” adds Kuypers.
