UC Davis Plant Breeding Academy to offer advanced training modules

Responding to the demand by the plant breeding community, the UC Davis Plant Breeding Academy (PBA) will offer advanced training modules in plant breeding covering a variety of topics. The first advanced module session is exclusive for PBA graduates.
The course will take place in Almeria, Spain, March 2-5, 2015 in conjunction with the regular European PBA session.
Dr. Bruce Walsh, University of Arizona, Tucson, will join the PBA instructors to help deliver this module. Some of the topics include:
- Multivariate selection
- Linear and mixed models, BLUPs
- Genomic selection
- Advanced experimental designs
The future sessions will be open to the industry and academia. Dates and locations will be announced soon.
