This Monday the General Director of the Korean Seed & Variety Service (KSVS), Mr. Shin, and the Director of Naktuinbouw, John van Ruiten, signed a cooperation agreement. With this agreement the KSVS and Naktuinbouw can develop joint projects in the field of Plant Breeders' Rights and seeds and planting materials.
The agreement, called Memory of Understanding (MoU) was signed under the eye of Minister Kamp of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. Based on this MoU Naktuinbouw and KSVS will develop joint projects in the field of Plant Breeders' Rights and on improvement of production of good quality seeds and planting materials. The knowledge of both organizations are combined. For example in the development of trainings in the field of Plant Breeders' Rights in Africa and Asia.
Annually KSVS organizes an international course for Plant Breeders' Rights for participants from countries that recently began granting Plant Breeders' Rights. In collaboration with WUR in Wageningen Naktuinbouw annually organizes the well-known PVP Course. Both organisations have great experience in Plant Breerders' Rights research with specialization in different crops. Cooperation can lead to offering a wider range of crops.
