John A. Studebaker of Richland, Michigan, a past president and honorary member of ASTA, passed away Wednesday, June 4.
John began his career as a farm manager in Ohio, later joining Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company where he held several marketing and sales positions in the Animal Health Division. John became general manager in the Asgrow Seed Subsidiary of Upjohn. He was president of Asgrow Seeds from 1981-1985 before becoming a director of Animal Health and Division Manager of the International Division.
He then joined Agrigenetics Company, a Division of Lubrizol Corporation as its president and CEO, and was vice president of Lubrizol Corporation. He also held the position of chairman of the board for Cibus and served on the board of Alliance for Animal Genome Research.
John was president of ASTA from 1991-1992, and was awarded honorary membership in 1998.
