The Board of Directors of All-America Selections® (AAS) and National Garden Bureau Inc. (NGB) has selected a new Executive Director to succeed Nona Wolfram-Koivula following her extraordinary 25-year-career as the inspiring leader to two very successful horticulture organizations.
We are pleased to announce that the new Executive Director of AAS/NGB will be Diane Blazek. Diane joins us from Arment Dietrich, Inc., a boutique public relations firm in Chicago where she served as Vice President of Business Development then as President. Prior to that, Diane was the President and Publisher for Ball Publishing where she worked for 15 years.
According to AAS president, Jim Nau, "Nona's decision to retire is not taken lightly; All-America Selections and the National Garden Bureau honor her tenure and her leadership. We wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors."
"Our entire industry will miss the support we received from Nona for the past 25 years." adds Bill Watson, NGB president. "Nona was instrumental in getting our message out to the gardening world. She will be missed and we are thankful for all she did for both NGB and AAS."
As for the future, Diane says, "I am honored to be the one chosen to carry on Nona's work with these two organizations. Times have changed and there are certainly challenges ahead but there are also some wonderful opportunities for both organizations and I look forward to building upon the foundations in place to work with and benefit both the horticulture and gardening communities."
For 75 years, AAS has promoted new garden seed varieties that pass the test of superior garden performance judged in impartial trials throughout North America. NGB is a non-profit organization providing reliable, accurate gardening information on flowers and vegetables. One of the missions of NGB is to convert people into gardeners.
