FMC Agricultural Solutions has hired Paul Gerdes as a retail market manager for Western and Southwest Minnesota. A 17-year agribusiness veteran, he will work with the FMC sales team and retailer customers to provide greater service for growers in his territory.

“We are excited to welcome Paul, and his lifetime of insight into Minnesota agriculture, to our team,” said Randy Young, FMC Agricultural Solutions Midwest regional business manager. “Growers know and respect his crop experience while retailers look to his example to satisfy their clients. He will be a valued asset to FMC.”

A native of Mountain Lake, Minn., Gerdes grew up on a family farm, earned a bachelor’s degree at Southwest Minnesota State University and has spent almost two decades serving Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota growers as an ag retailer and agronomist. In his most recent role as agronomy manager for CHS New Horizons in Herman, Minn., he oversaw major business growth and led a team of more than 60, who advised and served the crop protection and other input needs of growers in Grant County and the surrounding area. Gerdes began his new position with FMC on February 3.
