FMC Agricultural Solutions has hired Eric Johnson to join its sales team as a retail market manager for Southern Florida. In his new position, Johnson will lead sales initiatives and work directly with FMC Star Retailers in his territory.

“Eric brings agronomy and business experience that is not only extensive, but focused on the needs and challenges of Florida growers,” said Bob Lusby, FMC Agricultural Solutions North America regional business manager. “We’re excited to bring the benefit of his expertise to our customers in Southern Florida.”

A certified crop advisor and former business owner, Johnson holds a master’s degree in agronomy from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in marine biology from the University of Western Florida. Most recently, Johnson was employed with The Andersons Inc. elevator and ag-product group, where he served two years as a sales representative. He has also studied crop scouting and insecticide effectiveness as a research scientist, focusing on psyllid and rust mite monitoring along with fungicide trials. Johnson began in his new position on Aug. 5.
