MANA will host its Herbicide Expo plot tour on July 10, 4 pm, at Southern Illinois University (SIU) Belleville Research Center, located at 2036 Charles Lane, Belleville, Illinois 62221.
MANA products to be showcased include Torment™, Pummel™, Rumble™, Tailwind™ and Vise™ herbicides – which all tout resistance management attributes for improved weed control with emphasis on glyphosate-, HPPD-, triazine- and ALS-resistant species.
The SIU-MANA field demonstration will show a variety of weed control experiments via the company’s new soybean herbicide lineup. Dr. Brian Young, SIU professor of plant soil and agricultural systems, will be in attendance to present field trial insights.
Additional topics covered by industry experts include herbicide resistance management strategies and protocols for Illinois soybeans; advanced management techniques for Palmer amaranth and other tough to manage weed species; and new innovations in herbicide modes of action for varying degrees of weed resistance.
The July 10 event is “open invitation” for growers, retailers and crop consultants. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be approved for attending Certified Crop Advisors (CCA) and Certified Professional Agronomists (CPAg).
A barbecue-style dinner is scheduled for 6 pm at the same location.
Attendees who register prior to the event will qualify for a chance to win a Benelli® 12-gage shotgun, an Apple® iPad® and other highly unique raffle items.
After the tour and dinner, MANA will host a Texas Hold’Em Tournament, starting at 8:15 pm, at the Hilton Garden Inn in O’Fallon, IL.
Registration is required before July 5, 2013 if planning to attend MANA Herbicide Expo and participate in the Texas Hold’Em Tournament.
