May 10, 2013

QualySense AG, an EMPA-based start-up company that pioneers innovative grain and seed sorting technologies to set new quality standards in the food industry, announces today that it has appointed Dr. Beat Bühlmann to its board of directors. Beat is a Private Equity professional and active business angel. Some of his selected business angel investments are Codestreet, Decision Sciences Security Solutions, LogicSource, On-Running, Phytoceuticals, and obviously QualySense.

QualySense’s Chairman of the Board, Alberto Romaneschi, says: “With Beat we were able to win on our board a seasoned business angel investor with an unmatched network and a broad finance and business experience”.

Beat, freshly appointed as QualySense’s board member, says: “Regularly screening many start-ups, I have not often seen such a convincing combination of a strong business proposition coupled with a highly ambitious and very skilled founders’ team. I am looking forward to the upcoming market entry with the QSorter Explorer as I am convinced that we can offer our clients a very powerful tool.”

QualySense is the worldwide industry leader focused on delivering innovative high-end sorting solutions to achieve optimal processing, quality, and safety of agricultural products. QualySense was founded in 2010 and has been awarded a number of prizes and grants. The company is rapidly growing and has lately received the Swissparks “Best Startup of 2012” award.
