Syngenta Canada fulfills grower’s need for speed with motorcycle giveaway - Winner of custom-built Harley-Davidson motorcycle announced at Ag Expo in Lethbridge

Neil Anderson of Hazlet, Saskatchewan, will soon be enjoying the open road on a new set of wheels as his was the name drawn from more than 1,900 contest entries for a Traxos® Harley-Davidson® Softail® Deluxe motorcycle. This custom-built motorcycle has been traveling western Canada for the last year, promoting the power and speed of grass weed control provided by Traxos herbicide. For every 320 acres worth of Traxos that growers purchased prior to October 31, 2012, they received a contest entry to win the bike.

“Traxos delivers fast and powerful grass weed control in spring wheat and durum, managing even the toughest weeds,” said Jon Habok, Product Lead, Cereal Seed and Herbicides for Syngenta Canada. “Given these strengths, we like to think of Traxos as the Harley-Davidson of post-emergent herbicides.”

A Group 1 herbicide, Traxos contains two powerful active ingredients, plus a unique, built-in adjuvant, which improves the product’s absorption and translocation through the plant to maximize effectiveness of the active ingredients and accelerate weed control on tough grass weeds like wild oats and green foxtail.

Anderson’s name was drawn at Ag Expo in Lethbridge, Alberta. “I received a call saying that I had won the Harley-Davidson motorcycle and I must say that I was shocked because when you enter something like this, you don’t believe that you’ll actually win,” commented Anderson. “We’ve used Traxos herbicide for the past couple of years and, we like the product, so purchasing Traxos paid off in a couple of ways.”
