Strengthens cereal portfolio integration
- Supports strong pipeline of Syngenta cereal products for the Canadian market

Syngenta Canada Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Habok to the role of Product Lead, Cereal Seed and Herbicides for Canada, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to the advancement of cereals in Canada.

“As a leader in the cereals industry, Syngenta is looking to the future to ensure that we have the right structure and people power in place as we take our cereal commitment to the next level through integrated solutions,” stated Norm Dreger, Head of Cereals, North America, Syngenta. “Jon brings the knowledge, skills and capabilities required as we continue to expand our cereal offerings in Canada.”

In the past few years, Syngenta has introduced WR859, SY985 and SY433 varieties into the Canadian market. With an expanding cereals portfolio which includes crop protection products as well as upcoming launches of durum, barley, spring varieties and eventually hybrids, additional product management is a key component to meeting the needs of the Canadian marketplace.

Habok has enjoyed a long career in agriculture, working in various roles within agri-business before joining Syngenta Canada as a Territory Manager in 2007. In 2010, he assumed the role of Customer Marketing Manager, supporting the western Canadian business and, in July 2011, transitioned to a national role of Asset Lead for Cereal Herbicides. John’s strong customer focus, experience and interpersonal skills make him a great fit for managing these key Syngenta portfolios.
