Plant Sensory Systems, LLC announced today that Syngenta Biotechnology, Inc. has signed an exclusive license agreement to evaluate Plant Sensory Systems’ proprietary Nitrogen Use Efficiency and Stress Tolerance (NUEST) technology in sugarcane and rice.
Nitrogen fertilizer, which is critical for the growth, yield, and quality of sugarcane and rice, is costly to the farmers and harmful to the environment. Plant Sensory Systems` NUEST technology allows plants to utilize nitrogen more efficiently and withstand longer periods of drought. Increasing the efficiency by which crops utilize nitrogen without compromising growth, yield, or quality would greatly benefit the farmer and environment.
“We are pleased that Syngenta, one of the world’s leading agribusiness companies, will be evaluating the NUEST technology for improved agronomic performance in sugarcane and rice,” said Kathleen Turano, president, Plant Sensory Systems.
