Nichino America announces new Group Leader, Government Affairs

Marie Maks has been appointed Group Leader, Government Affairs for Nichino America, Inc., effective January 1, 2013. She will continue to serve in her present position as Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs.
Ms. Maks joined Nichino America in January, 2000 bringing with her long-time regulatory affairs experience in the agriculture industry. Prior to joining Nichino, she worked for DuPont Company in the areas of plant pathology and regulatory affairs. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Delaware.
“We are happy to expand Marie’s role as Group Leader for Government Affairs,” says company Vice President, Kenneth Chisholm. “Her extensive regulatory experience and established relationships will be an asset when liaising with federal and state governmental agencies. Keeping informed of legislative and governmental activities and the impact on Nichino America is vital to current and future business. “Marie will be an integral part of ensuring effective communication between our company and the agencies,” says Chisholm.
Nichino America, Inc. manufactures and sells several proprietary crop protection products known for their targeted performance, flexibility and ease of application, and fit with today’s environment. Among the company’s products are Applaud, Centaur, Courier, FujiMite, Portal, Tourismo and Vetica insecticides, ET herbicide/defoliant and Venue herbicide, and Artisan and Convoy fungicides.
