FBSciences announces new Chief Technology Officer

Memphis, Tennessee, USA
November 30, 2012

FBSciences, Inc., an emerging global life sciences leader in agricultural innovation, is pleased to announce the promotion of Terry Hanson to Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Formerly Vice President of Research & Development at FBSciences, Hanson has worked to expand FBSciences' global influence as a leader in naturally derived products and active ingredients that promote plant health. Embracing this role as a leading global solutions provider, FBSciences seeks to amplify their impact by leveraging the new role of CTO to manage their growing catalog of products aimed at demonstrably improving plant health, providing higher yields and better quality of grains, oilseeds and produce.

As CTO, Hanson will oversee all aspects of the company's proprietary technology including the product development pipeline and promising efforts to identify future generations of its exclusive plant growth regulator products. Hanson says, "FBSciences has a robust technology platform that has the potential to produce numerous active ingredients. Some of our most recent trial work has shown promising opportunities in disease resistance and nematode management, as well as plant growth regulation."

In his new capacity as CTO, Hanson will attend American Seed Trade Association's (ASTA) upcoming December conference in Chicago to meet with industry partners and share the company's latest research on its seed-applied PGR technology. FBSciences recently completed its fourth season of global research on this exciting seed-applied product, which has been shown to improve plant growth indicators, including sharply increased root development, abiotic stress mitigation and increased yield.

Hanson's 30 years of experiences in sales, marketing, production, research & development—including 15 years of emphasis in agricultural chemistry— position him well to lead FBSciences' technology efforts. This cross-functional experience combined with his technical and chemistry backgrounds equip him with the skills to make an immediate impact as CTO.

FBSciences CEO, Dr. David N. Duncan, explains, "FBSciences needed someone with a 360 degree perspective to oversee basic chemistry research, applied field research, active ingredient screening, and our global registration efforts, all unified in creating commercially successful, naturally derived plant health products with the potential to someday be used on every managed acre in the world."

Says Hanson, "I look forward to applying my wide range of experience to direct our technical teams to fully develop our technology platform and to work on our current products. We are also focusing on the next generation of highly active natural chemistry to produce products that are already positively and naturally influencing plant physiology -- especially in the challenged markets that need them most around the world."

FBSciences is a life sciences company committed to helping farmers around the world achieve optimal plant health and crop performance through innovative, scientific principles. FBSciences is headquartered in Collierville, Tenn.
