Dr. Jaswant Singh is newly appointed Executive Director of the Asia & Pacific Seed Association (APSA)

APSA Executive Committee would like to formally introduce Dr. Jaswant Singh as the newly appointed Executive Director of Asia & Pacific Seed Association.
A veteran in the international seed industry and someone who has an extensive experience in working both with the private and public sectors, Dr. Jaswant is joining APSA Secretariat in Bangkok, Thailand starting on September 1, 2009.
Dr. Jaswant, who is of Indian descent and is now a New Zealand citizen, has senior level seed business management experience in Southeast Asian countries. On the technical side, he is well-adept on vegetable seed breeding and production, and has also covered cotton and maize crops. Aside from Hindi, he speaks Vietnamese and can converse a little in Thai and Filipino. He has also worked in Nigeria on maize crop improvement. Dr. Jaswant holds a PhD in Plant Pathology and Plant Breeding from the University of the Philippines in Los Banos and had post-doctoral studies from the University of Michigan Business School’s Executive Education Centre. He had also worked with Rockefeller Foundation as a post-doctoral scientist.
Through his leadership, the Executive Committee of APSA would like to assure everyone that the Association will continue to provide services required by our members and work on closer coordination with other international partners in the seed industry.
