Terry Dulaney, AgVenture Mid-South CEO and GM, notes solid performance in the company’s VPMaxx brand corn and soybean products. The company has been offering the products for two years and will expand product offerings for 2010 |
Farmers across the Mid-South are realizing the benefits of AgVenture Mid-South’s extensive testing programs and superior genetic access. The Clarksdale, Mississippi seed company has access to all major corn seed genetics providers, including Pioneer’s elite germplasm, through their VPMaxx® brand.
"We are proud of how these products have performed so well. Both our testing programs and our customers validate the exceptional performance of each product across multiple sites. That’s proof," said Terry Dulaney, AgVenture Mid-South CEO and General Manager.
Two years ago, AgVenture, Inc. was the first company in the country to announce their agreement with Pioneer, a DuPont Business, to offer customers access to the world’s largest elite germplasm pool and technology bank. VPMaxx brand is a seed product lineup provided to growers exclusively through AgVenture. AgVenture Mid-South deploys its history and expertise in identifying, selecting and locally applying the right combinations of genetics and technologies to Mid-South geographies and agronomic environments.
In addition, and beyond this resource, AgVenture Mid-South accesses seed genetics and technology from providers including Monsanto, Syngenta and Dow Agro Sciences along with dozens of independent/foundation seed resources.
Dulaney said, ―VPMaxx brand is an extension of what AgVenture is all about – providing access and then locally matching the best products with the specific geographic and agronomic conditions for maximum profitability and performance. We have two years of VPMaxx brand genetics performing in Mid-South soils. We have customers with two years of VPMaxx brand results in the bank. The additional access to this line of genetics strengthens and fortifies our abilities to correctly source the right genetics for the right fields.
It is for those reasons the company has expanded both their research program and product offerings.
"We’re committed to delivering the best seed choices to our customers. We have continued to build our hybrid and variety testing program which now includes six locations across the Mid-South for corn alone. Each location is specifically selected for unique agronomic specifics - from the soil through the entire environment. Each location provides us with invaluable information for our customers’ and company’s success," Dulaney added.
Dave Treinen, PROaccesssm sales and marketing manager for Pioneer, a DuPont Business, recently toured the AgVenture Mid-South plots.
"This group of professionals truly knows their seed testing business. They carefully and effectively manage every detail and each layer of the testing program. The VPMaxx brand seed products selected and developed for this region are proven to yield well and perform strongly across the Delta region," he said.
"Coming in 2010," Dulaney added, "we are announcing the addition of three new VPMaxx brand corn products and two new VPMaxx brand soybean products to our already-broad product lineup. Our ability to work with growers throughout the year with programs helps keep AgVenture Mid-South on top and in touch with growers’ needs."
Dulaney cited some of the company’s key grower education initiatives such as the Maximum Profit System – a program that helps growers significantly improve profitability by 20-30 percent and lower cost per bushel by as much as 10 percent. Another program, AgVenture University, has drawn growers from across the Mid-South to participate in intensive agronomic education programs. To date, more than 150 Mid-South farmers have participated in AgVenture University.
"AgVenture Mid-South has broader access to genetics and technologies than any other company. We will continue to advance products that are tested, adapted and effectively perform in this area. Our philosophy of matching the soil with the seed is how that broad access becomes locally profitable on every acre planted," Dulaney said.
AgVenture, Inc. is the nation’s largest network of independently owned regional seed companies. Based in Kentland, Indiana, AgVenture provides this growing network of independently owned and managed seed business owners with seed products meeting exacting standards for quality, together with leading-edge genetics and technology.
