USA - Cassie Misch honored with Future Giants of the Seed Industry Award

Alexandria, Virginia, USA
June 22, 2012

Seed World in partnership with the American Seed Trade Association’s Future Seed Executives (FuSE) Committee awarded Cassie Misch with the Future Giants of the Seed Industry Award during ASTA’s 129th Annual Convention June 21 in National Harbor, Md.

The Future Giants of the Seed Industry award annually recognizes an individual who is in the graduation year of his/her post-secondary program who plans to enter the seed industry, or is currently employed in the seed industry and is seen as a rising leader. The award is given to an individual who shows the potential to make a significant contribution to the industry.

The 2008 Purdue University graduate serves as a licensing executive and brokerage manager for JGL, Inc. Misch is responsible to sell, service and license seed companies with JGL soybean and wheat genetics.

“Cassie has led JGL to new innovative ways to use technology in marketing to our customers,” said Greg Gerard of JGL, Inc., in Plymouth, Ind. “She’s been successful in growing marketshare in her sales area, which includes Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin.

“We’ve currently expanded her role as licensing executive and brokerage manager, which puts her in touch with more than 150 seed companies.”

Misch currently serves on the Indiana Seed Trade Association Board of Directors, the Independent Professional Seed Association Education Committee, FuSE Campus Connections chair and FuSE vice chair.

In nominating her, Gerard said “Cassie has a passion for the seed industry and has achieved more than anyone I know in her fist four years in the seed industry.”

“She performs at a superior level, paying much attention to detail in every role,” he added.

The Seed World Advisory Board reviews the nominations and selects the recipient.
