AgVenture East Coast Seed grows - adds three sales representatives

Kentland, Indiana, USA
August 26, 2009

Solid product performance and rapid adoption of AgVenture® brand seed products and service opportunities along the eastern seaboard states have encouraged additional growth for East Coast Seed, LLC. With facilities based in Salisbury, MD and Bridgeville, DE, the young seed company has continued to grow and is now adding three additional sales representatives.

Joining East Coast Seed are Tom Neal, Kip Shockley and Josh Johnson. All are with DE Chem, LLC and will serve a territory including portions of DE, MD, VA and WV. Tom Neal, of Hebron, MD said, “We’re really pleased to offer the AgVenture® brand to our customers. AgVenture has more access to seed genetics and technology pools than any other seed company. It’s really critical to us that our growers get the right seed they need to increase their profitability. Providing them with AgVenture corn, soybeans and alfalfa seed will allow us to make a significant and positive difference on our customers’ farms.”

East Coast Seed Co-owner, Jeff Middleton said, “We’re really pleased to have Tom, Kip and Josh join us. Together, they have a wealth of experience and a true customer-focused approach to business. They are consistent in delivering service and value to customers. Our philosophies align and our customers stand to gain.”

Kip Shockley, from Salisbury, MD said, “I’m confident in offering AgVenture products to our growers. DE Chem LLC was designed for service, not just sales. That’s why East Coast Seed is such a great partner to our existing company. We have built our business on strong relationships with growers. I grew up farming and have worked with growers my whole life. With our focus on service and the access to AgVenture’s global pool of genetics and technologies, we can greatly enhance our customer’s abilities to increase profitability on every acre they plant.”

East Coast Seed added the Spies brothers as sales reps just three months ago. Middleton said, “We are growing and will continue to grow to meet the demand as customers reach-out for our products and services. Our growers are really reaping the rewards of the broad access AgVenture provides. We have the unique ability to select genetics and technologies that perform right here in these environments. We really focus on selecting the right genetics for each field. The results in the field are crop health and yield on every acre. The profitability is in the bank.”

East Coast Seed participates in AgVenture’s Maximum Profit System (MPS), an intensive approach to dramatically increasing yields by lowering cost per bushel, significantly increasing yields and maximizing profitability on every acre. Middleton said, “With the DE Chem team representing the AgVenture brand, we can take those methods and messages to a whole new group of East Coast customers. We’ve had dozens of farmers participate in MPS programs such as AgVenture University and look forward to reaching new customers as the program grows.”
