AgReliant Genetics has named Craig Newman (right) to replace Raphael Journel as its President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2012. Mr. Journel has been President and CEO since AgReliant Genetics was founded in 2000. He will assume new international responsibilities in the Limagrain Group, one of the two AgReliant shareholders. AgReliant tripled its corn unit volume in North America since it was formed in 2000, and is currently # 4 in corn market share.

Mr. Newman brings 33 years of experience in the seed business, having served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for AgReliant since 2000 and in various management roles with Akin Seed and Callahan Seeds (which later became part of AgReliant Genetics). He also served as the President of Illinois Seed Dealers and is currently 2nd Vice-Chairman of the American Seed Trade Association.
