Dr. Keith Campbell joins AgVenture, Inc. as Seed and Technology Manager

Dr. Keith Campbell of Johnston, Iowa has joined AgVenture, Inc. (AVI) as the company’s Seed and Technology Manager. Dr. Campbell has more than 25 years of focused seed industry experience in research, breeding and testing, and in product advancement strategy. He will provide leadership and product support to AVI’s nationwide network of independently owned and operated Regional Seed Companies (RSCs).

AgVenture Director of Product and Technical Marketing, Scott Hart said, “Keith is an outstanding addition to our company. He’ll be a viable and valuable resource for every AgVenture customer and AgVenture Regional Seed Companies.” Hart continued, “Keith has tremendous industry experience. He combines practical experience with a deep understanding of both germplasm and the seed business. He will no doubt have a positive impact here. We’re confident he’ll further enhance and expedite our ability to advance outstanding seed products to the field.”

Born and raised in the Midwest, Dr. Campbell has spent his professional career there. His professional experience includes research contributions made at Stauffer Seed Company and as a plant breeder for Weaver Popcorn. For six years, he led research work at Monsanto’s Monmouth, Illinois research facility. He has held product technical advisory and leadership roles with Corn States and with Stine Seed Company.

“I have had a great respect for AgVenture for many years,” said Dr. Campbell. “AVI’s leadership is as unique as the company itself -- strong and focused on the customer” He added that the seed industry is in an exciting position in terms of the advancement of germplasm and traits. “AgVenture’s independent seed company business model is both resilient and practical. It allows them to be ready to put those advancements to work in customers’ fields. I look forward to supporting these efforts.”

Dr. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin Madison, a Master of Science degree in plant breeding from University of Delaware. He holds a Ph.D. in plant breeding and plant pathology from University of Illinois. He and his wife, Shelly have two children.
