Some wheat varieties more resistant than others

Aarhus, Denmark
October 10, 2011

There is a difference between wheat varieties with regard to their resistance against fusarium, according to results from studies carried out at Aarhus University.

Scientists from Aarhus University have supplied data regarding the resistance of various varieties of wheat to fungi belonging to the fusarium complex to farmers, breeders and the Danish Agricultural Advisory Service.

The results show that there are considerable differences between wheat varieties. Some varieties are quite resistant to fusarium infection while others succumb more easily to infection.

Read more (in Danish) about the results on the website of the Danish Agricultural Advisory Service here.
