The American Seed Trade Association’s Future Seed Executives to host webinar explaining the basics of patents
Alexandria, Virginia, USA
August 19, 2011
The American Seed Trade Association’s Future Seed Executives will host “Patent 101: The Basics” by webinar Aug. 24 from 1:30 – 3 p.m.
“In today’s business climate, having a good understanding of IP (intellectual property) protection is essential,” says Dana Rewoldt, Syngenta senior patent attorney and regional PVP expert who will lead the session. “More and more value is derived from intangible assets.”
Participants will walk away with a general understanding of the four basic types of IP, what IP can and cannot do, and the potential value and risk associated with IP. In addition, Rewoldt will review case studies.
The registration form is downloadable at http://www.amseed.org/docs/fuse_reg082411.doc.
Registration costs $20 for ASTA members, $25 for non-members and $20 for students. Payment must be received in full by Aug. 23.
“My hope is that when we are done, participants will be able to make a decision whether or not something is worth protecting,” Rewoldt says. “Being able to recognize IP opportunities before they are lost opportunities can only enhance business and set you apart from colleagues.”
FuSE, formed in 2004, works to educate and support future seed industry executives.
